Motivation

I stepped on the scales this morning and saw a very heartening 4 lb drop since Tuesday's weigh-in.  "Yay, that's the lowest number I've seen on the scales for months!"  Was my first thought.  "It's really working."  Was my second thought.  "Oh my God I have to go to a big wedding tomorrow!" was my third thought.

So, I know that I've been really good this week specifically to allow some wriggle room for the wedding tomorrow but, now I've got the wriggle room, I want to keep it AND have a great time tomorrow.

S'not fair......

But seriously, seeing that number was very motivating.  I'm pleased that, despite feeling rubbish last night, I managed to limit my naughtiness to a hot toddy (hot water, whisky, honey and lemon juice - sooooo good) and a carb-counted icecream (yes, I know they don't go together!!).  Rich went out to darts and dominoes and left me on the sofa and, feeling poorly, I was sorely tempted to go a bit wild on the comfort eating but I didn't.  Progress.

Happily I think all the looking after myself is paying off too.  I had a good night's sleep and didn't feel nearly as ropey this morning so maybe the cold is under control??  Maybe.  I'm golfing this afternoon with Rich, his brother and another pal so that is something to look forward to.

All I have to do is NOT go crazy on the food and drink tomorrow and I will see that same number on the scale come Monday morning.  Simple as that.

Watch. This. Space.

Good luck. I'm challenging myself to also exhibit restraint this weekend and not undo the weeks efforts

How many? 4lbs? Incredible! That is really fantastic. You clever cookie.

It's funny how the best motivation to lose weight - is losing weight!

Have a great time at the wedding. x

Wow - a fabulous result, well done you and good luck for tomorrow (not that you need it, sounds like you are on good form).

Ah yes the having-your-cake-and-eating-it thing. Well do I understand.

4lbs is amazing though - good for you.

Enjoy the wedding.
