Winning and losing

No, not THAT (although I'm still so sad and angry about the referendum result).

But blogging about my weight and fitness is what this is mainly about. So, how have I got on with the big restart? Early morning swim?? Erm, not so much. I woke up at 6.10 and thought hard about it. Then Rich threw a big arm over me and I felt so warm and comfy I was out for another hour by which time it was too late. I blame luuurve.

Proper low carby food? Yes!! Cooked my old standby brekkie of bacon, eggs, tomatoes and mushrooms with NO toast and it was delicious. This counts as a good start to me. Long may I keep it up.

Choices to be made about my lunchtime activities - swim, run, hilly dog walk, combination of the above?? The dogs have been somewhat neglected think they should feature, especially as we are out this evening. Hopefully I can go swimming AND fit in a decent walk.

Golf might be winning....today at least

I stepped gingerly onto the scales this morning - hmmm,  not too bad - 15.9. So, 6 lbs up from my post LL low. I went swimming for the first time in weeks yesterday so that must have helped. We played golf today too so not a bad day although the roast lamb supper followed by rhubarb crumble may have cancelled out those hills.

I'm WFH tomorrow so I have plans for a swim, a dog walk and dancing before settling into the pub to watch England batter Iceland's defence for 90/120 frustrating minutes.  I will lose some weight during that time - what fingernails I have left!!

I'm still saddened, gutted and worried about Brexit. Can't believe it has happened although I called it before the vote. I have a recurring feeling of doom which I've never experienced before being generally pretty positive about life. I hope I'm wrong.

Operation 'Half stone off quick' starts in earnest tomorrow. Watch this space.

Too much fun.

Sorry for the total disappearance over the last few weeks. I have been having too much fun. Golfing fun and watching the Euros fun. The golf has battled valiantly with the beer and food which inevitably accompanies the football but the results are not good - a whole half stone has re-appeared. Gulp.

We are off to Portugal for a long weekend (watching football and golfing - natch) at the end of July so I have 4 weeks to get this sorted and vamos that half stone.

Can't chat now as we're off to the golf club's summer barbecue.  It's not the summeriest of evenings but I'm looking forward to some Pimms action.

I WILL be back more frequently though. See you soon. Lxx

Back on the treadmill (not literally)

I've had 2 good days under my belt now and the scales are back down to a more respectable 15.6.8 so where I was post Brighton and pre Wembley. The next step is to get back to 15.3 and my end of boot camp weight.

Tuesday I did a 3 pack and an evening meal day.  I was hungry all day but stuck to my guns then, when Rich went off to darts, bored, I tried my best to ruin my hard work with some evening grazing - toast and peanut butter (!!), handful of raisins and fruit- not toooo bad but not great either.

Yesterday I ate real food all day, including some mini cakes at the halfway hut on the golf course but played 18 holes of golf and went for a decent evening walk with Rich and the dogs so overall I have got away with it.

Today I'm working from home again (tapping this out while waiting to see the dentist about a loose crown). It has not started well. I had a pack and a coffee and was looking good. Then frustration at multiple wifi and IT issues got the better of me and while waiting for my laptop to reboot for the umpteenth time, I 'accidentally' ate 2 pieces of toast and peanut butter! Gaaah!!

That bloody jar of peanut butter tormented me for my whole boot camp and now it's opened it is winning the war. When I get home I'm going to stick a big label on it - STOP! THINK!!

Anyway, all is not lost. I am WFH so can go for a run at lunchtime and plan to do a supermarket shop this evening while Rich is golfing to make sure I have diet friendly supplies in the house.

Swimming and golf tomorrow too and a blessedly free weekend with more golfing (a match) and no boozing. I CAN claw this back and get to fresh fat. Summer is generally a bad time for me weightwise but I'm determined to change my stars this year.
