Oookaaaay!

In my optimistic world, I hoped that this place would be my safe place to explore my side of the story. After all, that is what a blog is, one person's diary, not an attempt to tell the unbiased truth from all sides (which would be impossible in any event). Unfortunately that has not proved to be the case. I suppose these times are hard on everyone and I should have been more pessimistic.

So, comments are now moderated and I'll be self-censoring until I decide what to do, whether to go private or set up another blog or just disappear.

Sorry to everyone who used to enjoy this blog for the weight and food chat, the photos and dogs and the snippets about my dull country life - I now apparently live in a soap opera - I had hoped it would be like a Joanna Trollope novel but it is turning out more like Shameless.....sigh..... I hope one day to return to a happy country life with dogs and events, football and golf, weight and exercise woes and triumphs.

PS, I typed a lovely post earlier about ballroom dancing last night - won't post it just yet but it was fab, we loved it!!

Oh dear, what a shame! I hope everything sorts itself asap and you can get on with your life.
I think it would be a real shame if you left the blogging world - I love reading your blog. I hope if you make it a private one you would consider me as a member?
Take care,
Fi xx

I saw the comments and I think you're taking this very well - I'm not sure what motivates people to do such a think but it's entirely out of place if they have something to say to you, to do so here. I'm also surprised that anyone would be so dramatically partisan - only you and D know what your marriage was like and what you went through and it's not up to anyone else to give their moral judgements. I do hope that you continue to blog - I'd miss your blend of positivity and frankness.

I've never posted before but I've read your blog for a while, and I wanted to say I'm sorry to hear you've had some negative reactions.

I don't think anything badly of you at all, unfortunately in life you can't make everyone happy, but you have to try to make at least yourself happy! I wish you nothing but the best and I'm sure there are tonnes of non-commenting readers and supporters out there who feel the same!

Hi Lesley, I hope you are doing ok, you sound as though you are. I wish you all the best & hope you continue to blog as you know I have learnt such alot from you. This is your time now to step out & do what you can to make yourself happy, try to ignore any negativity, there will always be someone who can't be happy for you. Please keep blogging,(but go private if you feel that's necessary) I would miss you great photos of the dogs, your honesty & energy.

So sorry to read about the negative comments you recieved on here. I've been reading your blog for some time and have followed with interest your tremendous efforts to control your weight. You've done fantastically well and inspired me with your determination.

I was sorry to hear of your marital problems, but these things happen and it sounds as though you're doing the right thing for you and ultimately for D as well. I do hope you can continue your blog, I'd really miss reading it and following your journey.

Take care, xox

Hi Lesley

I wish you'd come back. I hope you're okay.

Perhaps making your blog private (by invitation) would help things for a while?

In a process such as the one you're going through, there's always going to be people who won't approve. The moment you're pleasing everyone else is the moment you are no longer staying true to yourself.
