So, thought I had better introduce Gary properly. More about him below.
Some pics from today's walk on Coombes Edge above Glossop with my school pal Jenny. So good to catch up.
You know, I do miss blogging. So, why don't I blog?? I post my walk pics on Facebook quite often so maybe that has taken over that side of things. Then just changes in routine and general laziness.
In a burst of curiosity I popped onto some of my favourite blogs and noticed that Peridot was back and Seren still blogging so I thpught I would give it a go too.
And I will be getting back to dieting too! Woo hoo!
But first, some pics from my walk round Glossop today with my old school pal Jenny and our new doggo Gary!
I'm afraid we had to say goodbye to Minty last November and we were lucky enough to take Gaz into our home just before Christmas. We were so so sad to lose Minty at only 12 and it looked like it might take months to find another dog due to covid prices and empty rescues. Then I got a Facebook message from an old school friend who knew of a dog looking for a home before Christmas. His owner had died of covid (only 60) and the family couldn't give him what he needed. Think he was grieving too and that wasn't helping them.
Anyway, that waa a Sunday night and I picked him up from Nottingham on Monday!
He's a big, active, athletic sprocker spaniel. Brilliant round the house and very loving. His only issue is just how far he can run and swim and how high he can leap. After Minty and Shelagh pootling along, Gary is an Olympic athlete which means you have to be constantly alert and thinking 3 fields ahead. He has a high prey drive for birds too! His recall is pretty good but there is always potential for a distraction when he's miles away from me!
It is amazing to see him run and romp in full flow though. So joyful.
